Everyone wants to serve foster kids, but sometimes it's hard to know how. There are many ways to serve in Compelled to Care. You can serve at large events, write encouraging cards or even help organize gift drives for foster kids and help organize donations.
SERVE FAMILIES & KIDS
The Care Box Project is a gift project where we fill care boxes with essential items like toothbrushes and hair care supplies and fun things like legos and dolls for kids who are first coming into foster care. These boxes are distributed to DCYF offices and private agencies across the South Sound region.
The Foster Grad Gift Drive is an opportunity to buy graduation gifts for foster youth who are aging out of the foster care system and graduating out of high school. This event happens annually in May.
Drop off care packages and write encouraging cards for foster, adoptive and kinship families.
There are nearly 10,000 Children in Washington State who are currently in foster care, resulting in a need for safe, loving homes for children and youth. Learn about how to get licensed and see a list of private foster care agencies in our area. So much of what we do is online. You can join our online encouragement team, submit blog posts, take photos of events and even design graphics.
We would love to partner with your organization so that we can work together to serve the foster/adoptive and kinship community at a bigger capacity.
