Compelled to Care monthly dinners are a great opportunity to meet other foster, adoptive and kinship families and also a great place to serve!
Each location is led by a local team that follows the same format, but designs their program around the needs of their community.
MONTHLY FAMILY DINNERS
Adults are served a family style meal while children are served a kid-friendly meal in their classrooms. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. Please feel free to bring a dinner from home or a local restaurant.
Please register for childcare and provide as much information about your kids so that we can prepare as needed. Age restrictions may change based on location.
The adult program rotates every month between training, speakers and fun events. Children receive a new lesson plan every month that includes organized activities, free play and crafts.
PRE-REGISTRATON IS REQUIRED
Registration is required so that we can plan for enough childcare volunteers and provide enough food. We understand that foster parents have kids added after registrations are turned in; we just ask that you do your best to pre-register. Please register by the Wednesday prior to the dinner.
Certificates for foster parent training hours are provided for trainings, but not for every dinner. Trainings are not pre-approved, but have consistently been accepted by licensors in the past.
Compelled to Care is a non-profit that grew out of a ministry in a church. Similar to our online content you will hear references to Christian content from some of our speakers and in our kids classrooms. We also begin and close our dinners with prayer. Learn more
Our leadership teams seek out donations for meals, locations and supplies. Even with financial and in-kind gifts, as well as, volunteer teams there are still overhead costs. For the sustainability of this program there are suggested donations or memberships. Scholarships are always available upon request.

These images were taken before 2020. Since then our in-person events have adjusted with the guidelines. We have not hosted family dinners since Feb. 2020.
Moving forward into 2022 some things will look different, like the way we serve food and meeting in multiple locations. You will also see us smiling under our masks. Even though things will look different the community and connections you'll make with people who "get it" will be the same!
