We love interns! We partner with Evergreen Ministry College (with Northwest University) to provide students with real world experience and to use their unique skills to serve the vulnerable.

Hannah designed and marketed an amazing Beauty Box for kids in foster care. She designed the logo, packaging, marketing campaign and pitched it to hair salons to adopt as their community outreach project.

Matt learned how to host a virtual conference about trauma informed care. This was the first year we moved this in-person simulcast conference to an exclusively online experience. Matt did a great job of contributing ideas so that the event ran smoothly.

The Compelled to Care Practicum is designed for students to learn how to leverage digital and outreach ministries for the purpose of raising awareness and caring for the most vulnerable. Compelled to Care serves foster, adoptive and kinship families through building community, training and providing the community opportunities to serve.

There are four major areas of operation within Compelled to Care: digital ministry, community collaboration, donor retention, and in-person events. Students can choose what they want to focus on and their quarterly resume-building ownership project will be based on that. In the past, students focused on marketing have created social media campaigns for raising awareness and program/packaging design for Care Boxes. Students leaning toward social work/outreach spent their time making connections with our community partners and managing the receiving and distribution of donations. This is a very hands-on learning experience where you are given the opportunity to be creative, find solutions and figure things out.
